Xperia X Review:
Sony has been
making Flagship phones for Xperia Z range for a number of years. Now we have the Xperia X range translate
experience has three phones Xperia XA, Xperia X performance and the Xperia X,
anybody who is familiar with the Xperia Z5 will be instantly familiar with the
Xperia X as it has a lot of same design and make.
Looking at the
right hand side the of device you will find the familiar sony button layout , starting
with the big power button in the middle which has incorporated fingerprint
reader, volume buttons and then the
dedicated camera key, on the left side you have a sim card tray slot which has
a memory card slot also, on the top you have a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack and
at the bottom you have a charging slot.
On the front there
is a 5 inch full HD display plus a front
facing camera on the, back we have the Xperia logo and LED flash and a 23
megapixel camera, it has some own unique Design Elements e.g theirs is a curved
glass on the front, the corners are rounded and there are curved edges.
This phone is loaded
with qualcomm snapdragon 650(hexa core CPU with two cortex a72 and four cotex
a53) Adreno 510 GPU + 3 gigabytes of RAM
.It comes with all common specs GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi and 4g LTE. Now talking
about NFC, it is on the front of the phone which is a bit problem in finding
the right spot for connecting to other devices, you have to put the front of
the sony to the back of the other device.
For sound Xperia X
features dual front-facing stereo speakers means the sound is unobstructed when
you place the phone on flat surface and the sound is always projected directly
upward and outwards ,the speakers can get loud on placing on a flat surface
actually seems to boost the sound somewhat, their number of audio settings that
you can use to improve the sound quality including DSEE HX , Clear audio+ and a
dynamic normalizer, there's also a manual mode which allows you to enable The
Equalizer that activate various surround sound options including S force front
surround.
Now battery, Sony
Xperia X has 2620 milliamp hour battery which is pretty decent. Initial charge
when out of the box for the first time it lasted two days. With moderately
heavy use you can get a full day , and this can be improved even further by
turning on some of the power saving feature. According to Sony's website the
Xperia X support Quick Charge 2.0 which means that the phone can be charged
relatively quickly up to that 80% level.
In terms of General
performance the snapdragon 650 provides a Snappy experience the UI is smooth
and there are no noticeable lags. The game experience is also very good.
This phone comes
with the 23 megapixel Sony exmor RS sensor a wide-angle 24 millimeter G lens and support
for low-light photography at ISO 12800 ,the camera on the Xperia X is good it's
not the best but it's good ,though the camera has a 23 megapixel sensor its set
to 8 megapixel in 16 x 9 by default. It will give you best results because it
uses “supersampling”.
The Xperia X also
features Sony’s predictive hybrid autofocus in this you can
tap the object in the frame and if it moves than the Xperia X uses objects
tracking to keep that object in focus. There
is no 4K recording, but Xperia active support 60 frames per second in full HD. It has some
problems with the video recording in full HD, overheating while recording video
,also a warning message appears indicating about the temperature.
It
comes with Android 6.0 marshmallow along
with the light skin on top of the stock android UI, it also includes extra
features on Sony related apps. Under the battery settings there are two
different powers available stamina mode and Ultra stamina mode with stamina
mode enabled then GPS, vibration, image enhancement etc. are restricted to reduce
battery consumption also background data is restricted again just to save
battery. With ultra stamina mode enabled both Wi-Fi and cellular is disabled
and the home screen switch to the ultra stamina mode home screen which includes
access to only a few apps basically the phone contacts, messaging, camera and a
clock.
So the Xperia X is
available right now in the UK and in Europe for 459 pounds or 589 Euros, it is
to be coming to the USA on 26 of june around
$550 off contract. Now those prices are actually higher than what you canpick
up an LG G5 or a Samsung Galaxy S 7 however if you find one on the contract
maybe you get a good deal through your carrier.
That’s it for now ,
I hope you guys liked it reading.
