It is a device that looks forward to take the world under it's secure and reliable Wing probably named after the ever-so-popular British mathematician and Cryptanalyst Alan Turing, this ambitious phone is not just your everyday phone developed by Turing Robotics Industries it looks like something from the future, "a crossover between a spaceship and Superman which seems to be a deliberate design choice" said the CEO of Turing .It is quite evident that we are in fact looking for a more secure mobile device and so far we haven't seen such security from any Android devices, on the contrary iPhone has a dedicated encryption chip with encryption and decryption done locally and unlike Android the entire iPhone is automatically encrypted by default.
What is this Turing Phone anyway? , basically this Android smartphone which will be available for pre-order later this month has a hard-line focus on security, at first when I heard about the company I did feel a little skeptical because I never heard the company before in reference to SmartPhones and one will think twice before buying a phone like this, it comes with 2.5 gigahertz 801 Snapdragon chip with 3gb of RAM and 16GB of storage as its base model the 1080p display though seems a little outdated but is spread out through 5.5 inches and secured by a fingerprint scanner towards the left the phone is backed up by 3000 milliamp hour battery and has its own propriety charger known as the Wallaby Magstream which curiously resembles the charger from Apple also know that the phone does not have any headphones jack so you left with a Bluetooth headset as the only option.
The only real economic drawbacks are pointed Corners that will dig into your palm and other than that the phone looks and feels premium. The Turing phone's frame is made of liquid metal alloy that the company is calling liquidmorphium and It's actually an amorphous alloy of ziconium, copper, aluminum nickel and silver that supposed to be stronger than steel but cheaper and more efficient to produce than titanium the back of the phone is made of tough plastic and texture to look like snake skin the phone also uses the Ocean Master nanocoating technology to waterproof the devices.
The phone has an ipx8 rating and turing claims that the phone has been left underwater for up to 24 hours without issues, so far so good right but remember that turing phone is a promise of a more secure mobile phone with into an encryption built into most of the core apps. The point of turing phone is security and testing those claims will be difficult, it all revolves around the turing imitation key which attempts to constrain public to key cryptography onto the phone.
A public key matrix is paired with your private key and both remain on your phone offline when someone wants to communicate with you Securely, they will be able to use your public key to encrypt it and only your private key will be able to decrypt that message which will be happening in your phone's Hardware altogether which turing believes is the most secure communication you can have between two devices, basically that means that the key is generated and the master key is stored offline.
The turing phone will start Shipping later this year and it will be available for pre-order on July 31st and they will only be ten thousand units available though it's available in three capacities there is a 16gb model at $610 and 64GB for $740 and the 128gb model which will cost around $870.
